Smith & Wollensky Miami Beach
A South Pointe Park classic with front-row views of Government Cut—come for the steaks, stay for the cruise ships, yachts, and sunset over the Miami skyline.
Smith & Wollensky Miami Beach sits at the southern tip of Miami Beach in South Pointe Park, where Biscayne Bay meets the Atlantic through Government Cut. It’s one of the city’s most famous “watch-the-ships” dining rooms, with open-water views, passing cruise ships and container vessels, and a lively outdoor deck scene.
For boaters, the move is simple: dock at a nearby marina (rather than expecting on-site restaurant slips), then take a quick rideshare or stroll into the South of Fifth neighborhood. Time your reservation around golden hour for the best skyline and channel traffic views.
The Smith & Wollensky brand dates to 1977 in New York, and the Miami Beach outpost has been renovated over the years to enhance the bar and terrace experience—perfect for a pre-dinner cocktail and a slow cruise through the Cut before you tie up.

The Experience
Known for its iconic waterfront setting and big-view terraces, Smith & Wollensky Miami Beach pairs classic steakhouse energy with a uniquely Miami backdrop: open water, Fisher Island views, and constant movement through Government Cut. The brand began in New York in 1977, and the Miami Beach location has undergone notable renovations to refresh the bar and outdoor areas—making it a go-to for sunset cocktails, celebrations, and “ship-watching” dinners at the edge of South Pointe Park.
