River Yacht Club
A once-polished Miami River restaurant and members-club concept near Brickell with a marina vibe and skyline views. Now widely reported as permanently closed—use this page to plan a river cruise and find nearby dock-and-dine alternatives.
River Yacht Club (RYC) was a waterfront restaurant and members-club concept on the Miami River at 401 SW 3rd Ave, Miami—positioned as a higher-end spot where boaters came for the “river yacht parade” energy, cocktails, and an elevated dockside scene.
Multiple current directories and editorial sources now flag River Yacht Club as closed/permanently closed, with reporting tying the shutdown to significant Hurricane Irma damage in 2017. If you’re planning to cruise the lower Miami River today, treat this as a notable former dock-and-dine landmark—and use the tips and nearby options below to build a solid on-the-water plan.
Because riverfront addresses can be repurposed over time, confirm the current tenant/operator at the address before heading over, especially if you’re hoping for on-site docking.

The Experience
River Yacht Club opened during the Miami River District’s redevelopment wave and was described as a polished, high-end riverfront destination—part restaurant, part marina, part members-club. Design and development reporting connected the project to major real estate and design names, and the venue became known for its curated waterfront look and the spectacle of yachts moving through the river.
In 2017, reporting indicated the restaurant closed following Hurricane Irma damage and safety concerns. While the brand remains a point of reference for Miami River dining history, travelers should verify what’s currently operating at 401 SW 3rd Ave before making plans.

Bring multiple fenders, quality dock lines, and a crew plan for line handling. Expect wakes and variable current, and give yourself extra time for drawbridges and commercial traffic.
Cruise the lower Miami River for skyline views, then choose an operating marina or restaurant that confirms transient dockage. With BoatPass, membership covers captain, fuel, and docking on all trips, making it easier to hop between active waterfront stops.
