About This Marina

Dinner Key Marina & Mooring Facility is a large municipal marina operated by the City of Miami, located on the western side of Biscayne Bay in Coconut Grove. The City lists 587 wet slips accommodating roughly 30’–135’ LOA, plus a 250+ mooring field east of the main marina (acceptance up to about 50’ LOA per City information). Boaters choose Dinner Key for the combination of protected in-bay conditions, practical services (pump-out, dinghy dock, laundry, restrooms), and an excellent “step-off-the-boat” neighborhood—Coconut Grove is close enough to explore on foot.

It’s also a landmark location: the adjacent building is Miami City Hall, originally the Pan Am “Clipper” flying boat terminal. The City has also noted major restoration work completed in 2021, reinforcing Dinner Key’s reputation as a core Miami boating hub.

Arrival tips (VHF, dockage, and moorings)

Call ahead for slip or mooring guidance—availability can change quickly with seasonality and events. When you’re close, monitor VHF 16 and hail the marina on working channel 68 for instructions. Be ready to share your LOA, beam, draft, power needs, and ETA. Dinner Key is generally protected inside the basin, but Biscayne Bay can build short chop in strong easterlies—slow down early, watch for local traffic, and follow posted/no-wake areas. For moorings, confirm your assigned mooring and any shuttle/dinghy procedures before arrival. If you plan to anchor anywhere nearby, verify current local restrictions and compliance requirements—rules can change and can be location-specific.
