Faena Hotel Miami Beach
Oceanfront luxury in the Faena District—perfect for a high-style Miami stay after a day on the water. Dock at a nearby marina, then ride to the resort.
Faena Hotel Miami Beach is an oceanfront luxury resort in Mid‑Beach’s Faena District, set in the historic former Saxony Hotel (1948) and reborn as Faena in 2015. It’s known for a bold, arts-forward atmosphere, high-touch service, and an address that puts you on Collins Avenue with the Atlantic at your doorstep.
For boaters, the key detail is simple: Faena is beachfront, not a marina hotel. The most practical plan is “stay at Faena, dock elsewhere”—secure transient dockage at a nearby full-service marina (or arrange a charter pickup at an authorized marina), then use a car service/ride share to reach the resort.
Use this guide to map your dock-and-transfer logistics, pick the right marina for your itinerary, and plan an easy boating day that ends with a seamless return to Faena.

Your Perfect Boat Day
Sample boat-to-Faena day (easy, realistic logistics):
1) Morning: Depart from your chosen marina (Miami Beach Marina for classic sightseeing loops; Downtown marinas for Biscayne Bay routes).
2) Late morning: Cruise Biscayne Bay for skyline views and a pass by Star Island/Venetian Islands (route depends on departure point).
3) Midday: Anchor up (conditions permitting) for a sandbar-style break, or do a relaxed bay cruise and return early if weather builds.
4) Afternoon: Return to marina, allow extra time for no‑wake zones, traffic, and dock-out procedures.
5) Transfer: Ride share/car service to Faena (keep a change of clothes and footwear for post-boat plans).
6) Evening: Dinner and a night out in the Faena District—confirm venue hours and dress expectations before heading down.
We loved staying oceanfront at Faena and keeping the boat elsewhere—dock, quick ride, then straight into a great dinner and a relaxing night.

Frequently Asked Questions
No. Faena is directly on the Atlantic beachfront and does not publish on-property transient dockage or a marina. Plan to dock at a nearby marina and transfer to the hotel by car.
Popular options within an easy ride include Miami Beach Marina (South Beach), Sunset Harbour Yacht Club, and Miamarina at Bayside (Downtown). Confirm transient availability, depth, and arrival procedures with the dockmaster before you go.
Charter pickup is typically handled at authorized marinas rather than at the hotel. Miami Beach has specific charter staging/loading rules in certain areas, so confirm the pickup location and timing with your operator in advance.
Dock-and-transfer works best: choose a marina that matches your route, build buffer time for no-wake zones and bridge openings, and plan your return with enough time to refresh before dinner back at the hotel.
Valet service is commonly offered at the resort (and is referenced in some Faena promotions). Call ahead to confirm current pricing, oversized vehicle limits, and EV charging availability.
Pack sun protection (polarized sunglasses, sunscreen, hat), extra water, motion-sickness meds if needed, your marina confirmation details, and a change of clothes/shoes for upscale post-boat plans.
