Acqualina Resort & Residences
A five-star oceanfront home base in Sunny Isles Beach—perfectly placed between Miami and Fort Lauderdale for days on Biscayne Bay and the Intracoastal. Transit via Haulover Inlet and dock at nearby marinas before heading to the resort.
Acqualina Resort & Residences on the Beach sits on Sunny Isles Beach along Collins Avenue, with a distinctive Mediterranean-villa style and a reputation for top-tier luxury—recognized by Forbes Travel Guide with Five-Star awards for both the hotel and spa across many consecutive years.
For boaters, Acqualina’s location is all about access: you’re near Haulover Inlet (Baker’s Haulover Cut), the key connection between the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay in this area. That makes it easy to plan a day that mixes open-water cruising with calmer bay routes, waterfront dining, and sandbar time.
Because Acqualina is directly on the ocean (not on the Intracoastal), it’s not typically a pull-up-by-boat property. The most seamless approach is to dock or stage from the Haulover area marinas, then take a short rideshare or car service to the resort.

Your Perfect Boat Day
Day 1: Arrive at Acqualina, settle in, and scope conditions at Haulover Inlet (currents and shoaling can be dynamic). Plan your on-water timing around tides and local forecasts.
Day 2: Morning departure from a Haulover-area marina → transit Haulover Cut into Biscayne Bay → cruise north/central bay for sightseeing → stop at Haulover Sandbar (anchoring rules vary—confirm day-of) → return before late-afternoon inlet traffic.
Day 3: Choose a calmer, nature-forward route: launch/meet near the Oleta River area for sheltered exploring, then wrap with a beach and spa afternoon back at the resort.
Acqualina feels like a true retreat, but you’re still perfectly positioned to run the inlet and spend the day on Biscayne Bay. Dock nearby, transfer quickly, and you get the best of both worlds.
