1 Hotel South Beach
An oceanfront, sustainability-forward luxury stay with quick access to South Beach’s best launch points. Dock nearby, then cruise Government Cut, Biscayne Bay, or the Atlantic in minutes.
Set directly on the Atlantic in the heart of Miami Beach, 1 Hotel South Beach is a standout choice for travelers who want beach access now—and a smooth plan for getting on the water fast. While the property is not a marina hotel, it sits within easy reach of South Beach boat hubs, making it practical for day charters, guided tours, or docking at a nearby marina and transferring overland.
The hotel is known for its nature-inspired design and sustainability focus, including LEED Certified Silver status and a signature exterior green wall with just under 12,000 plants. For boating-minded guests, the big win is location: you’re close to Government Cut for quick ocean access and near Biscayne Bay routes for calmer cruising, sightseeing loops, and iconic Miami waterfront views.
If you’re arriving with a vessel, the typical approach is simple: reserve transient dockage at a nearby marina (availability varies), then rideshare or taxi to the hotel. If you’d rather skip the logistics, the hotel also promotes guided boat tours and private boat charters—an easy way to get a “day on the water” without bringing your own boat.

Your Perfect Boat Day
Suggested boating day from 1 Hotel South Beach:
• Morning: Transfer to Miami Beach Marina and depart via Government Cut for an Atlantic sunrise cruise (conditions permitting).
• Late morning: Return inside to Biscayne Bay for calmer water and a sightseeing loop past iconic waterfront homes.
• Midday: Choose a sandbar-style swim stop in an appropriate, legal area—respect seagrass zones and local guidance.
• Afternoon: Cruise back toward Miami Beach, time your return for easier docking and traffic, then head back to the hotel for beach time and dinner.
Tip: Build buffer time for South Florida weather shifts and busier docking during peak weekends and major event weeks.
We loved staying oceanfront and still being close to a full-service marina. Docking nearby and transferring to the hotel made the whole boating day effortless.
