Downtown Miami Sunset Cruise
Sail into golden hour on Biscayne Bay with front-row views of the Downtown/Brickell skyline and famous waterfront islands. Most cruises depart from the Bayside Marketplace marina—easy to pair with dinner or drinks before or after.
A Downtown Miami Sunset Cruise is one of the easiest ways to see the city at its most photogenic time of day. In about 90 minutes, you’ll cruise Biscayne Bay as the sun drops behind the skyline and the city lights begin to glow—perfect for photos and a relaxed, breezy ride.
Most sunset cruises depart from the Bayside Marketplace waterfront (Bayside Marina/Miamarina at Bayside). It’s a convenient hub in the heart of Downtown with restaurants, bars, and shops steps from the docks, making it simple to turn your cruise into a full evening.
Routes vary by operator and conditions, but many cruises loop past the islands and celebrity-home waterways, often with views toward Star Island and the Venetian Islands/South Beach area. Arrive early for check-in and boarding, especially on weekends and event nights nearby.
About This Experience
Most Downtown Miami sunset cruises run about 90 minutes and focus on Biscayne Bay sightseeing: Downtown/Brickell skyline, cruise-ship channels, and iconic island neighborhoods with waterfront mansions. The most commonly advertised departure zone is the Bayside Marketplace tour-boat docks (Miamarina at Bayside) at 401 Biscayne Blvd, Miami, FL 33132—many operators direct guests to check in on the waterside promenade, often described as “behind Victoria’s Secret.”
Because routes depend on weather and marine traffic, think of the itinerary as “often seen” highlights rather than guarantees. The payoff is consistent: cooler evening air, dramatic sky colors, and the skyline transitioning from golden hour to night lights.
Typical sunset-cruise routes (often seen)
Biscayne Bay Skyline Loop
A classic Downtown-to-bay loop featuring wide-open Biscayne Bay views with Downtown/Brickell skyscrapers framed at sunset as city lights start to turn on.
Island & Mansion Pass (Star Island area)
Often includes a slower pass near famous island neighborhoods and waterfront mega-homes. Specific homes and routing vary by operator and conditions.
Venetian Islands / South Beach Viewline
On clear evenings, many cruises angle for distant views toward the Venetian Islands and the South Beach/Miami Beach skyline before returning to Bayside.

Planning tips for arriving by boat (and by car)
Departure point: Bayside Marketplace marina/tour-boat docks at 401 Biscayne Blvd, Miami, FL 33132 (Downtown waterfront).
Common meeting instruction: check in on the waterside promenade, frequently described as “behind Victoria’s Secret.” Follow your operator’s confirmation details.
Arrive early: downtown traffic and event nights near the arena can add delays; give yourself extra time to park, walk to the docks, and board.
Closest parking: Bayside Marketplace Parking Garage (401 Biscayne Blvd). Open 24/7; entrance on Biscayne Blvd between NE 4th St & NE 5th St; max height 6'6"; posted rates vary by day/time.
What to bring: light jacket (it can feel cooler on the water), phone/camera for skyline shots, and motion-sickness remedies if you’re sensitive.
If you’re boating in: Miamarina at Bayside is next to the departure docks. Permanent slips are limited; call ahead about transient (short-term) dockage availability.
Best time to go
Aim for a departure that starts 30–60 minutes before sunset to catch peak golden hour and the first pop of city lights on the return. Weeknights are often calmer; weekends can be busier, so earlier arrival helps with boarding and parking.
